WHAT I DO AT WORK

I am accountable for the achievement of ALL students through the development of effective and strategic instructional programs and training for site leaders and staff to improve teaching and learning to eliminate the achievement gap.

I analyze, interpret, and monitor performance management date across our district in the areas of academic performance, academic growth, academic completion, and retention, social emotional, and culture and climate. I lead and oversee district improvement efforts including the implementation of curriculum, staff development, evaluations, student assessments, and community relations.

I lead, supervise, and regularly communicate with our Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent the educational programs to prepare college and career ready graduates. I truly believe in bringing equity and access to our children through high quality rigorous education. We fight concentrated poverty with concentrated education.

BIOGRAPHY

I was born in Laos. My family came to the United States as refugees when I was 5 years old. I am the oldest of 6 children. Growing up, I watched my parents struggled trying to make ends meet. I never saw a time where my parents took a vacation or rested. I witnessed the sacrifices they made to ensure their children could be afforded an education. This inspired me very early on to go into education.

I believe that we each have a calling. I have been called to do educational missionary work to impact and change the lives of our kids and their families. I know I have a direct impact in changing the trajectory of the young minds that I have the privilege to interact with every day.

The greatest gift we can give someone is the opportunity to see their full potential. It’s incredibly powerful when you give someone HOPE.
